Okay, seriously? The two main characters die. What did you expect? The fireworks sequence with Dean and bb!Sam set to “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” absolutely kills, and from there my heart just keeps breaking—especially for Dean—over and over and over. The scene where he hugs his mom and tells her that he loves and will never leave her? Heart. Broken. Sam’s memories of leaving Dean, Zachariah’s perversion of Mary, that look of complete devastation on Castiel’s face, Dean throwing away the goddamn amulet. I just. Ugh. This episode.
